Rental Rates & Amenities

Gustave's Getaway, Carl's at the Farm*, and Henson Historic Haus Amenities:

All 3 homes feature air conditioning, central heat, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a covered porch, a picnic area with a park grill, picnic table, and campfire pit, and access to 3 miles of private hiking trails on 80 acres of property at Gustave's & Carl's and 46 acres of wilderness area at Henson Haus. Hunting is allowed with prior permission - please make arrangements with management.

All rates are based on double occupancy, with additional guests above the first 2 guests (people/pet) being charged out at $25 per night per guest. Applicable sales/room taxes are in addition to the rates quoted.

What Guests Need to bring: Personal Care Toiletries, Hair Dryer, Charcoal for the Grill, Groceries, Sporting Equipment

Items Listed Below, Gustave's Getaway provides that are included in your stay as part of the rate structure: Please advise us when booking guest food allergies and/or food issues related to medical conditions that may affect food items provided to you by us during your stay.

Foodie Items from our on-property commercial processing kitchen: Door County Kraut Company, as part of our farm operations, produces a variety of scratch bakery items, sauerkraut, fresh in-season produce and pickles, and specialty snack dips and spreads in our facility. We are fully licensed, inspected, insured, and are members of the Wisconsin Bakers Association. We will go over various choices for your stay based on seasonal availability and amount of guests and nights booked.

Additional Items: All linens for bed, bath, and kitchen; coffee/tea & associated condiments; paper products (paper towels, toilet paper); hand and dish soap; garbage bags; an appropriate amount of firewood harvested from our farm operations for "campfires" in our campfire ring.

Large fires & Bonfires, and Fireworks are not allowed due to permitting and local or county ordinances.

Sparkling Clean – Our Commitment to Our Guests

We assure you as our guests that our homes are viewed by our guests as exceptionally clean. Given the current health situation in the US, we have ramped up our traditional cleaning and sanitizing procedures.

* A dispenser of Hand Sanitizing Solution meeting CDC/EPA requirements, in addition to traditional bar soap, is also provided to guests, as well as dishwashing detergent. This product will be stored on a higher shelf, out of reach of children. As this product can be lethal if ingested, we ask that parents do not allow unsupervised use of hand sanitizers by the children under their control.

*Traditional housekeeping takes place first using cleaners, degreases, and sanitizer solutions to clean surfaces.

*We provide and also launder all linens as per CDC/EPA/WisDATCP/DHS guidelines.

*Dishware initial cleaning is required of guests to remove food soiling. Between guests, housekeeping re-washes/ sanitizes using approved solutions.

*Hard floor surfaces, where appropriate, are first washed using detergent/sanitizing solutions.

*Final sanitizing is done per request (see advisement below) by staff using a wide spectrum hospital grade aerosol sanitizer safe for use on upholstery/carpeting/draperies and the atmosphere within the home.

**Many of the above-mentioned cleaning products/solvents/chemicals are not for use by untrained and/or unlicensed personnel and can only be applied by management and are not left in the home for guests' use.

For a complete list of all our cleaning/sanitizing/detergent/solvents used, please contact us, and we will be glad to assist you. MSDS with detailed specifications on these products are available online.

These policies include but are not limited to, the aforementioned points of concern. They are subject to modification by management based on input/ guidelines from associated Federal/State/and Local Agencies oversight and recommendations.

  • Reservations are accepted for a minimum 2-night stay during peak season and a 3-night minimum stay on holiday and festival weekends.
  • The above rates do not include applicable taxes.
  • Pets Accepted With Approval - We can accommodate Large Breed Dogs (Great Danes, Newfoundland, etc.) 1 Golden/Lab-sized dog crate is located in each rental home.
  • Damages by pets or guests caused to our rental properties will be charged based on time and materials.
  • Changes in reservation dates -additional dates may be added to the beginning or end of a booked stay at no charge.
  • Re-scheduling of the original reservation made is subject to service charges for each change made.

Advanced reservations are suggested during peak season. We accept Master Card, Visa, American Express, and Discover cards. A deposit equal to the first night's stay is required on stays of less than one week. Stays of a week or longer require a $500 per week deposit. Deposits are payable by cash, check, or credit card in hold prior to the requested reservation dates. The deposit is forfeited if guests arrive after the date specified or depart before the final date of reservation, or damage to the property occurs.

Cancellation Policies

Please understand that when you reserve your stay, we, as lodging owners, and you, as guests, have entered into a legal contractual obligation to each other. Rentals of our vacation homes are dissimilar to motel room lodging facilities in that cancellations by our confirmed and extremely appreciated and valued return guests are very rare and most often based on emergency medical situations arising. We will work with you to accommodate your needs.

Cancellations 31 days or more prior to original reservation check-in dates: Guests have a choice to either re-book to a different time frame within the same calendar year, using the original deposit amount as a carryover to the new booking dates. (Multiple time frame changes are subject to a processing fee.)

Guests may also request a refund of the original deposit amount minus banking and processing fees incurred by our company as a course of doing business. A minimum fee of $30 will be deducted from the refund deposit amount, but greater fees may be required by us if weekly or multi-home rentals are involved.

Cancellations 30 days or less prior to original invoice reservation check-in dates: The original deposit paid is forfeited in full.
